The stuff I install: Chocolatey, putty, vim, powershell & extras, cmder, cyberfox, cygwin & extras, Notepadplus, a bunch of free fonts, Winscp, vlc, 7zip, all the sysinternals apps, filezilla, and nmap. However, its really useful to keep my work PC / work laptop / home PC in sync by git pushing the changes and then re-running the setupprofile.ps1 file. I haven't taken the time to flesh out some of the tests and some change tracking, because I just started doing this a few months ago, and I only hack on it when I have time. I get this file (SetupProfile.ps1) onto the system somehow and then execute it in PS with admin privs-īe warned, its a work in progress. (in fact, its the same repo as my unix dotfiles) Its the same concept as dotfiles in unix. I use a powershell script with choco commands that I keep in a git repo (along with app configs) to install/configure a system.
